Yoruichi usa un objeto llamado tenshintai creado por Kisuke Urahara. El tenshintai es capaz de traer a Zangetsu al mundo real y hacer Ichigo pelee con él. El efecto del Tenshintai es de tres días, así que Ichigo tendrá que derrotar a Zangetsu en tres días si es que quiere obtener el bankai. Mientras tanto, Renji se escapa de la prisión, Hanataro es castigado por su capitana, Retsu Unohana e Ichimaru Gin ayuda a Izururu Kira a escaparse de la prisión.
